New Soybean Webcast: Growth Stages
In this webcast, Mississippi State
University’s Trey Koger helps
viewers better understand how to determine
various vegetative and reproductive
soybean growth stages. Understanding
soybean growth stages will help
practitioners make decisions on key
production inputs, like pest management,
irrigation timing, and timing of harvest.

8th I.E. Melhus Symposium Published
Proceedings of the prestigious
Irving E. Melhus Graduate Student Symposium
are now published in the Plant Management
Network. The symposium features graduate
students who are chosen on a competitive
basis to present their thesis research
results. Topics covered include Grapevine
Powdery Mildew, Bean Pod Mottle Virus,
Citrus Stubborn Disease, and Potato Virus Y.
New Potato Webcast: Nitrogen Management
Carl Rosen of the University of Minnesota
has produced an educational webcast on
Managing Nitrogen for Irrigated Potato
Production in the Upper Midwest. This
28-minute webcast helps
practitioners learn how to make N rate and
timing recommendations for optimal potato
yield and quality. Topics
include a
review of Nitrogen needs and the N cycle for
potato; N requirements in relation to
specific potato growth stages; factors of an
N management plan; and potato responses to N
from research trials. View
Focus on Potato for more webcasts.
