CropLife America Partners with Plant Management Network

St. Paul, MN (November 16, 2004) – The Plant Management Network (PMN), an innovative website designed exclusively for plant and agricultural professionals, is pleased to announce its new partnership with CropLife America.

PMN publishes four science-based applied journals —- Applied Turfgrass Science, Crop Management, Plant Health Progress, and Forage and Grazinglands -— an image database, three field trials publications, a plant science database of more than 4,000 fact sheets and other web-based resources, and a monthly newsletter. PMN also offers continuing education units to Certified Crop Advisers through its education and training center.

"We’re pleased to be joining the Plant Management Network and to support the Network’s extensive, science-based resources for agriculture practitioners, educators and stakeholders," said Jay J. Vroom, president and CEO of CropLife America. "This type of practical, one-stop resource is vitally important to our CropLife members and to those making agronomic recommendations to manage crop and horticultural pests," Vroom said.

As a PMN partner, CropLife America joins some of the most respected organizations in the crop and plant science community in their goal of providing science-based information in agriculture. Other PMN partners include scientific organizations such as: The American Phytopathological Society, American Society of Agronomy, Canadian Society of Agronomy, CAST, Crop Adviser Institute, Crop Science Society of America, Entomological Society of America, National Alliance of Independent Crop Consultants, NCSRP Plant Health Initiative, Potash & Phosphate Institute, and the Weed Science Society of America. Industry partners include: Campbell Scientific, PBI/Gordon Corporation, Pioneer Hi-Bred, and Syngenta Crop Protection. PMN’s partners also include a growing list of 20 U.S. state land-grant university colleges of agriculture.

Established in 1933, CropLife America (formerly the American Crop Protection Association) represents the developers, manufacturers, formulators, and distributors of plant science solutions for agriculture and pest management in the United States. CropLife America member companies produce, sell, and distribute virtually all the crop protection and biotechnology products used by American farmers.
